BUSTED - German Arrested for Espionage - Caught Photographing Military Outpost on Kos

A 65 year-old German national was arrested on Wednesday on charges of spying on the island of Kos (in the Aegean). The German man, who is reported to be a resident on the island, is suspected of photographing a military outpost. Police authorities tracked down his automobile and apparently confiscated three camera memory cards, as well as binoculars and goggles.

When Greek officials investigated the man's home, they shockingly found, and confiscated, a notebook as well as other documents with handwritten notes, a tourist map of Kos, an external hard drive, two computers and tablet, five USBs, two camcorder tapes and even a cellular phone.

The notes, claim the same press reports, had recorded geographic coordinates of Kos’ military sites, public services and buildings on the island.

(Oh my....)

All the evidence has now been sent to the Greek police's forensic labs for further analysis and investigation.

The German man is now expected to appear before the prosecutor of the island of Kos.

(Editor's Note: The story is strangely similar to the German national that was arrested several months ago on the island of Chios. HellasFrappe had featured that story as well. Read more about that by clicking HERE.)
